7.30 – 9 AM

Multi-age exploration

On some days, we might start outdoors where we are free to play in the sand pit, draw or paint at the easels, read some books, climb on the bars or build something. When it gets too cold, we will start indoors in the Nursery room where I can explore the different materials and resources. This helps me to develop my sense of agency and I can choose activities which interest me.

9.00 – 9.30 AM

Morning tea

At 9.00 a.m., we join our friends at the dining table to have morning tea. Our morning tea is yummy and nutritious. I get to choose from a selection of seasonal fruits and snacks planned out by a trained meal planner. Our teachers regularly talk to my family to discuss about the ideal time to start me on solid foods based on my developmental milestones. After every meal, my teacher will record how much I ate on the OWNA system where my parents can monitor and track.

9.30 – 10.30 AM

Indoor exploration

After morning tea, we move back into the Nursery room where my teachers will set up different activities for my friends and I to participate in. We visit the dramatic play corner where I can pretend to cook a meal for my teachers. Sometimes, I will complete puzzles or create art pieces at the quiet corner. These activities will help me practice my grip and concentration. The many activities planned can also help me develop my language, social and emotional, cognitive, physical and creative skills.

10.30 – 11.30 AM

Outdoor exploration

In the later part of the morning, we take a walk outdoors. I can visit the secret garden to watch the worms in the worm farm, water the plants, or feed the worms with the leftover food from morning tea. We can spend time doing different activities where my educators will be there to support and facilitate my learning. They will also take photos of me at work and post it on OWNA for my family to see!

11.30 – 12.00 AM

Lunch

Lunch is served at the dining table. I might need to sit in the baby chair or the toddler chair. Our meals are designed by the nutritionist at Kids Gourmet Food and our Food Safety trained kitchen hand will help us prepare the food. For my friends who have special diets due to medical or cultural reasons, there will be a personalised menu and a separate bowl with a clear label and information at meal time for them. There is boiled warm and room temperature water for me to drink throughout the day.

12.00 – 12.30  PM

Milk

Every day, my educator will place my milk bottles and formula into the tray with my photo label and attendance. With the labelled trays, it will lower the chance of my bottles and formula being mixed up and instructions for preparing my bottle can be found on the label. There is also a bottle warmer to keep my milk at the correct temperature for me to drink! My educator will then record how much I drank in the OWNA app for my parents to see.

12.30 – 2.30 PM

Nap time

My friends and I have our individual cots which are labelled with our photo label and attendance. The cots, sheets and covers are for my own use. My educator does a 10-minute sleep check on the OWNA app to make sure that I am sleeping well.

The educator checks my nappy throughout the day and changes me when needed. Every change is also recorded on the OWNA app.

2.30 – 3.00 PM

Quiet activities

When I wake up, my educators greet us with warm cuddles and smiles. I get to engage in quiet activities as my friends begin to wake up too. We then wash our hands and get ready for afternoon tea.

The educator checks my nappy throughout the day and changes me when needed. Every change is also recorded on the OWNA app.

We have APP to help both of us to look after baby better

3.00 – 3.30 PM

Progressive afternoon tea

We will have snacks and an assortment of fruits for afternoon tea. We can choose the fruits we like to eat and some of my friends have another bottle of milk after having afternoon tea too. It all depends on the discussion my educator had with our parents on our meal plans and arrangements

3.30 – 4.30  PM

Outdoor exploration

My educator will apply sunscreen for me again and pass me my hat. I get to revisit the outdoor space to continue my inquiries, movement, construction, ball games, art and

meaning making, sand and water play, and nature exploration.

4.30 – 5.00 PM

Pack away and tidy up

It is time for tidy up. We will all come together to help the educators tidy up the outdoor space. We will all help in our own little way. Some of my friends carry the blocks while I carry books or crayons back into the shed for my educators to pack away. We then sit together for a simple group time to sing songs and then wash our hands.

5.00 – 5.30 PM

Late snack

It is time for late snack! We sit at the dining table and have fruits and vegetables while we wait for our parents to come and pick us up. We can continue to revisit the experiences set up in our rooms.

 5.30 – 6.00 PM

Reconnecting with loved ones

After a long day, my parents come and pick me up. My educators will also share with my parents what I did today and the photos would have been posted on the OWNA app.

As a security measure, my parents would need to sign me out on the centre’s iPad or via the OWNA app on their phones.

Daily

Cleaning routine

The educators at Ai Kids Academy takes our safety and hygiene seriously. After every meal (morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, late snack/supper), the dining area will be cleaned and sanitised thoroughly. There is a colour coding system for different areas and purposes (red for bathroom, green for kitchen, blue for classroom, yellow for bodily fluid). This ensures that there are no cross-contaminated between different areas of the centre.

3 times a year

Meeting parents

My educators meet my parents at least 3 times a year to discuss how am I developing in school and at home. They discuss about what goals they want me to work towards and my interests, likes and dislikes. My educators and parents will agree on 3 goals. My educators will plan experiences which I am interested in, are in line with my goals and related to the ongoing project in the room. My educator observes me regularly and posts 1 observation a month on the OWNA app for my family to see how I am progressing!
